Johnny ink

John Flowers, known as Johnnyink has been tattooing since 2008 and a local Buffalo native. Johnny has won multiple awards over the years for his work and specializes in Black and grey realism as well as color Neo-tradiotional. Everything from small detailed work to large scale sleeves tattooing is a true passion that shows in his work. “I love to make my tattoos larger than life to give it a “wow” factor when people see them.” 

Since his clients will be wearing his art for eternity, Johnny takes extreme pride and careful consideration in every detail of his pieces. “Placement and flow are the most important aspects when getting a tattoo and should accent the area appropriately.” 

Tattooing has become a lifestyle for Johnny. With always having the dream of his own studio, he now gets to work along side his biggest mentor in the industry, Ted Hawkins. “I always want to push myself to grow as an artist and achieve levels what I think are beyond my reach”. The environment at 125 working along side Ted allows me to achieve my goals. Now being in a private studio working along side my mentor the sky is the limit. 

Along with tattooing Johnny also is a local pop artist creating paintings with one of a kind color blends that pop off the canvas. He currently curates about 1 exhibit a year to showcase current series he creates. “Pop art allows me to work on complex color theories which I can translate into my tattoo work.”
